Talk about applying for colleges in Korea.

Being accepted to college is a major goal for most students in Korea. The educational fervor is very strong, so many students receive higher education. High school seniors are specially busy. The two main ways to apply for college are regular admissions and rolling admissions. For regular applicants, students are judged on two main factors among others: their College Scholastic Ability Test score, and their high school grades. Students take the CSAT in November, and acceptance letters are delivered at eh end of the year. For rolling admissions, other factors are taken into account. These can include recommendations from school principals, superior language skills, or winning major competitions. Students can apply starting in the first semester of their senior year.

 

한국의 대학 입시에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

대학 진학은 대부분의 한국 학생들에게 주된 목표다. 교육열이 매우 높아서 많은 학생들이 대학 진학을 한다. 고3 학생들은 특히 바쁘다. 대학 입시 지원의 주된 두 가지 방법은 정시 전형과 수시 전형이다. 정시 전형의 경우, 학생들은 여러 항목 중 크게 수능 성적과 내신 두 가지를 바탕으로 평가받는다. 학생들은 11월에 수능에 응시하고, 합격 통지서는 연말에 전달된다. 수시 전형의 경우, 다른 요소들도 고려된다. 이는 학교장 추천, 월등한 어학 실력, 혹은 주요 대회 입상 경력 등을 포함한다. 학생들은 고3 첫 학기부터 지원을 할 수 있다.
