Mon. My home (집 묘사)

  1. dressing room : 옷 방

     (예문) We use a small bedroom as a dressing room.

             우리는 작은 침실을 옷 방으로 사용한다.

     (예문) The dressing room is connected to the bedroom.

             옷 방이 침실과 연결되어 있다.

     (예문) You can put your coat in the dressing room.

             외투는 옷 방에 두면 돼.

 

  2. storage closet : (수납용) 벽장

     (예문) The storage closet saves up a lot of space.

             수납용 벽장은 공간을 많이 아껴 준다.

     (예문) This weekend, we should clean up the storage closet.

             이번 주말에 벽장을 청소하는 것이 좋겠다.

     (예문) The storage closet is next to the door.

             벽장은 문 옆에 있다.

 

  3. get some sleep : 한숨 자다

     (예문) I can get some sleep in the living room.

             나는 거실에서 한숨 잘 수 있다.

     (예문) You should stop working and get some sleep.

             일 좀 그만 하고 한숨 자렴.

     (예문) Where is a good place to get some sleep?

             한숨 자기에 좋은 곳은 어디일까? 

Tue. Neighborhood (동네 묘사) 

  1. get some exercise : 운동을 하다

     (예문) It's good place to get some exercise.

             그곳은 운동을 하기에 좋은 곳이다.

     (예문) I need to get some exercise because I am gaining weight.

             살이 찌고 있어서 운동을 해야 겠다. 

     (예문) What are some good ways to get some exercise? 

             운동을 하기에 좋은 방법은 어떤 것이 있을까?

 

  2. live next door to : ~의 옆집에 살다

     (예문) People live next door to us.

             우리 옆집에 사람들이 산다. 

     (예문) The people who live next door to us are very noisy.

             우리 옆집에 사는 사람들은 아주 시끄럽다.

     (예문) He lives next door to his best friend.

             그는 절친한 친구와 이웃이다. 

 

  3. keep it down : 소음을 줄이다, 조용히 하다

     (예문) We try to keep it down at night.

             우리는 밤에 조용히 하려고 노력한다. 

     (예문) Please try to keep it down during class.

             수업 시간 중에는 조용히 하도록 해 주세요.   

     (예문) Everyone kept it down because the baby was sleeping.

             아기가 자고 있어서 모두가 조용히 했다. 

Wed. Changes to My Home (집에 준 변화)

  1. redo the floors : 바닥재를 교체하다

     (예문) We redid the floors.

             우리는 바닥재를 교체했다. 

     (예문) We hired someone to redo the floors.

             우리는 바닥재를 교체해 줄 사람을 고용했다.  

     (예문) You should redo the floors before you move in.

             입주하기 전에 바닥재를 교체하는 것이 좋을 거야.   

 

  2. replace the wallpaper : 도배를 다시 하다

     (예문) We replaced the wall paper.

             우리는 도배를 다시 했다. 

     (예문) It took a long time to replace the wallpaper.

             도배를 다시 하는 데 오래 걸렸다.

     (예문) We ant to replace the wallpaper in the bedroom.

             침실의 벽지를 교체하고 싶다.  

 

  3. rearrange the furniture : 가구를 재배치하다

     (예문) Sometimes, we rearrange the furniture.

             우리는 때로는 가구를 재배치한다.   

     (예문) Should we rearrange the furniture in the living room.

             거실의 가구를 재배치해 볼까?  

     (예문) They rearranged the furniture when they got a new sofa.  

             그들은 새로 소파를 구매하고 가구를 재배치했다.  

Thu. Home Appliances (가전 기기)

  1. keep something cold : ~을 차갑게 보관/유지하다

     (예문) The fridge keeps food cold.

             냉장고는 음식을 차갑게 유지한다. 

     (예문) This tumbler keeps my drink cold.

             이 텀블러는 음료를 차갑게 유지해 준다.  

     (예문) It's hard to keep food cold without a fridge.

             냉장고가 없으면 음식을 차갑게 보관하기가 어렵다.  

 

  2. heat something up : ~을 데우다

     (예문) The microwave is used to heat things up.

             전자레인지는 뭔가를 데울 때 사용한다.  

     (예문) I like to heat my food up before I eat it.

             나는 음식을 데워서 먹는 것을 좋아한다.  

     (예문) I heated up some soup for lunch. 

             나는 점심을 먹으려고 국을 데웠다.   

 

  3. must-have item : 필수품

     (예문) A humidifier is a must-have item. 

             가습기는 필수품이다.  

     (예문) A magazine said this is a must-have item.

             잡지에 이건 필수품이라고 나왔어.  

     (예문) We packed all the must-have items before our trip.

             우리는 여행에 앞서 필수품을 모두 챙겼다.  

Fri. Bumping into a Friend (우연히 지인을 만난 경험)

  1. bump into someone : ~을 우연히 마주치다

     (예문) I bumped into a friend.

             나는 친구와 우연히 마주쳤다.

     (예문) I often bump into people I know at the park.

             나는 공원에서 지인과 우연히 마주치는 일이 자주 있다.  

     (예문) I don't think I will see him unless I bump into him.

             우연히 마주치지 않는 한 그를 보지 않을 것 같아.  

 

  2. be just like old times : 과거로 돌아간 기분이 들다, 예전과 똑같다

     (예문) Talking to her was just like old times.

             그녀와 대화를 하니 마치 과거로 돌아간 기분이 들었다.   

     (예문) Whenever we meet, it is just like old times.

             우리는 만날 때마다 예전과 똑같아.   

     (예문) It is just like old times when I go to that restaurant.

             그 음식점에 갈 때마다 과거로 돌아간 기분이다.

 

  3. touch base : 만나다, 연락하다

     (예문) We promised to touch base.

             우리는 다시 보기로 약속했다.  

     (예문) It's always fun to touch base with old friends.

             옛 친구와 다시 만나는 것은 늘 재미있다.  

     (예문) When was the last time you touched base with him? 

             마지막으로 그를 만난 것이 언제였니?
